Now, our erstwhile protagonist “the Scientist” may not realise this, but the capabilities of learning that the Robot demonstrates here are way beyond the state of the art. Not withstanding the ability to process natural language and semantics, it places itself in the position of a character in a narrative with only limited correspondence to itself, and then projects this characterisation onto an entirely different situation. And makes a joke while it is at it.

Brilliant. I think I shall give up on AI now and go home.
